Jimi Manuwa remains a top ten light heavyweight despite a two fight losing streak because the division kind of sucks at the moment, he’s trying to avoid a three fight skid and reaffirm his ranking. Thiago Santos is on a two fight winning streak and was successful in his move up to light heavyweight a few months ago, now he’s looking to take out a top contender and prove that he’s a force to be reckoned with in this division. The odds on this one favor Santos at -190 to a +155 for Manuwa.

All of this is pertinent to the world of heavy machinery because, in the show’s third season, the brothers decided they needed some big machines to get to the bottom of the mystery. That’s when Caterpillar construction equipment rumbled on stage.

You could see the spasms move across her stomach when a puppy was on its way, each one ejected in a bag of fluid. In the wild, its mother would gnaw the sack open for the pup to take its first breath. But in this case, the job of ripping it fell to her human family. Five hours and one "is it stuck?!" panic later, a dozen perfect specimens lay curled beside their mum – six girls and six boys, 11 black and one lone golden.

Alas, the procession of zillion-megawatt meteorites is interspersed with miscalculations and filler. The course before that magical halibut involved cappelletti chewier than bubblegum, stuffed with oversalty pheasant, and served in a broth so aggressively earthy it almost tasted like dirt. After the halibut came a shockingly bland seared lamb loin sitting atop ground hazelnuts and surrounded by beets and 25 dots of flavorless persimmon purée. Next came the Kobe beef masterpiece and, with it, hope. But the following course? A nutty Grayson cheese that had been transformed into a slice of cheesecake and paired, for some nefarious reason, with Dijon mustard foam: a marriage that makes no sense. The 15 courses began to feel like a Ping-Pong game between James Beard and an art school freshman. The three-and-a-half-hour meal’s rhythm, which was relaxed bordering on somnolent, only accentuated the problem.

But critics look at all this posturing, the promises to go after one man, and wonder what has become of the basic fairness principle that goes with holding American office. Are Teachout and her fellow candidates really promising to spend the powers of their state office taking on a sitting president personally?

She’s made the traditional promises of an AG, of course, saying she’ll police Wall Street and clean up Albany; she’s pledged to curb the influence of the real-estate industry. But the meat of her campaign is a very specific message: If elected, she wants to refocus the attorney general’s office on investigating Trump, his family, his associates and his businesses for possible money laundering, bank fraud and larceny. She wants the office to start preparing itself on Day One for the possibility that Trump could fire Robert Mueller or otherwise try to gut the special counsel’s investigation. If Trump pardons members of his family or his associates, Teachout says, the office needs to be ready for that, too—prepared to bring charges under state law when applicable.

They aren’t the catchiest names, it’s true. Pups get their proper ones at six weeks, when they’re taken to the National Breeding Centre. In the meantime, some volunteers call them all after characters in Coronation Street or Harry Potter. But in the Seales family and dozens of others, it’s become almost normal to coo, "hiiiii, little right fore girrrrlllllll!" at a tiny, wriggling ball of dog.

“We are excited to add a granular fungicide, expanding the number of solutions we can offer our customers,” says Michael Maravich, vice president of specialty for Sipcam.

“We’re not trying to make your life more difficult here,” Josh says. “But this is good practice in using language with care.”
